The Northwest Arkansas Crisis Intervention Center
What do they do?
Provide a free, confidential hotline service for suicide prevention, crisis intervention and referral information. A statewide teen hotline and Spanish speaking operators have increased the usage of the crisis lines making them more accessible to our changing population. The Crisis Center also hosts high school and elementary school prevention programs, a warm line for elementary students and community education seminars. The NWACIC boasts 50 volunteers who are currently trained as First Responders in time of local tragedies to help those affected to effectively deal with the crisis. How do they help?
By listening and offering support, they can help callers sort through thoughts and feelings, examine their options, and assist them in making a plan for what to do next. How can you reach them?
